The Diagnostic Offer Funnel
Build the diagnostic before you ask for the meeting.

Hey humans!
Vaibhav here.
Chuck has been poking at lead forms again, which is usually a sign something innocent is about to get audited.
Most landing pages ask for the sale before the buyer has done any thinking.
That is the leak.
The diagnostic offer funnel fixes a simple Lever problem: turning anonymous traffic into qualified demand without making the first move feel like a pitch.

Today’s Playbook
A quiz funnel works because it changes the job of the page.
A normal landing page says, “Here is what we do. Book a call.”
A diagnostic funnel says, “Answer a few useful questions and I will show you what fits.”
That difference matters. In Heyflow’s quiz funnel breakdown, the strong examples all use the same mechanism: easy first question, progressive profiling, conditional logic, personalized result, and a next step that feels earned.
Insurance funnels do not start with a long application. They ask a few qualifying questions, explain sensitive coverage limits when needed, and give a personalized price. Mortgage funnels turn a scary financial decision into guided steps, with micro-education inside the questions. Skincare and nutrition funnels reduce choice overload by turning product selection into diagnosis.
Same machine, different skin.
The buyer gives you small answers before you ask for a big action. Each answer creates context. By the time the email, quote request, or booking step appears, it feels like delivery, not extraction.
This is the part most B2B teams miss.
They copy the quiz format, but keep the old sales behavior. The result is a fake quiz that asks three fluffy questions and then dumps everyone onto the same calendar page.
That is not a diagnostic. That is a form wearing a costume.
A real diagnostic funnel has four jobs:
- Identify the buyer’s situation.
- Show them something specific about that situation.
- Route them to the right next step.
- Send clean signal back into sales and ads.
The last part matters more than people think. Meta describes Conversions API as a direct connection between marketing data and Meta’s systems for measurement and optimization. TikTok’s Events API docs say server-side events help capture missing conversions and improve targeting. Google says enhanced conversions for leads use hashed first-party data to improve conversion measurement.
Translation: a quiz is not just a prettier lead form. It can become a better signal collector.
If you are buying traffic, that signal quality changes the economics.
The Hidden Growth Leak Costing You Customers
When I look at B2B lead systems, I do not start by asking, “How do we get more leads?”
I ask where the buyer gets stuck.
A diagnostic funnel is useful because it forces that answer into the open. It shows whether the business has a visibility problem, a landing page problem, a sales follow-up problem, or a measurement problem.
The practical move is to build the diagnostic around the service you already sell. Do not make a generic quiz. Make the buyer feel the problem you can actually fix.
This is exactly the kind of leak we find inside Scale on Steroids.
For B2B teams, more traffic does not help if the offer, capture step, CRM routing, or follow-up is broken. We map the funnel, find the first constraint, and build the system that should have existed before the next campaign went live.

The Deploy
Here is the version I would build for a B2B service, agency, industrial company, or high-ticket operator.
Call it the Five-Screen Diagnostic.
Screen 1: Situation
Ask the buyer to choose their current state.
Example for a B2B lead-gen service:
- We have traffic but few leads.
- We get leads but they are low quality.
- Sales follows up manually.
- We do not know where the leak is.
This first question should be easy. No budget question yet. No phone number yet. Let them enter without feeling measured.
Screen 2: Constraint
Ask what is blocking progress.
Examples: weak landing page, no CRM routing, slow follow-up, unclear offer, no source tracking, not enough qualified traffic.
This turns the quiz from entertainment into diagnosis.
Screen 3: Volume
Ask for one practical number.
Monthly visitors, monthly leads, quote requests, sales calls, ad spend, average order size, or deal size. Pick the number that helps you route the lead without making them feel exposed.
Screen 4: Result
Give them a named diagnosis.
Not “thanks, we will contact you.”
Use three to five result buckets:
- Visibility leak: the right buyers are not arriving.
- Conversion leak: buyers arrive but do not raise their hand.
- Lead-quality leak: the form captures people sales cannot close.
- Follow-up leak: good leads go cold after capture.
- Measurement leak: ads cannot learn from real outcomes.
Each result page needs one useful paragraph, one recommended fix, and one next action.
Screen 5: Delivery
Now ask for the email or call.
Frame it as delivery: “Where should we send the leak map?” or “Want the 3 fixes for this diagnosis?”
The CRM should receive the result bucket, answers, source, campaign, and urgency. The ad platforms should receive the conversion event, ideally with server-side tracking where the stack supports it.
Pass/fail metric: within one week, at least 30 percent of starts should finish the diagnostic, and every completed result should create a CRM record with a clear segment and next action.
If completion is low, your questions are too hard. If completion is high but calls are weak, your result page is not creating enough urgency. If calls are good but ads do not improve, your tracking and offline conversion loop are probably the leak.

🎯 NEXT STEPS
- Pick one offer and write five result buckets before you touch a quiz builder.
- Turn your current lead form into a five-screen diagnostic with one easy first question.
- Push the result bucket into your CRM so sales knows what problem the buyer already admitted.
Stay weird,

P.S. If your landing page has a form but no diagnosis, you are asking the buyer to do all the work.
