Why your competitor gets the AI mention

Find the Page Missing From AI Answers
A small visibility check, clearer source pages, and two tools for the team.

Hey humans!
If an AI assistant recommends a competitor and ignores your business, publishing another broad blog post is an expensive guess.
Start by opening the sources behind the answer. You might need a clearer explanation on your service page, a correction on somebody else’s page, or evidence you have never published.
This week, find one gap worth fixing.

[FOR YOUR TEAM] Give this to your marketing lead. Sales supplies the questions; whoever owns the website makes one approved edit.

⚡ QUICKIES
➡️Agents will use pages as well as protocols
Google expects browser-based agents and direct protocols to work alongside each other. Its commerce protocol already outlines how people could make purchases within AI experiences.
For now, test your existing inquiry journey. Can someone find your offer, understand the terms, and fill out the form on their phone?
➡️ Your topic cluster needs a buying problem
Our guide starts with a problem that comes up in sales calls or lost deals, then builds out pages covering diagnosis, implementation, and services. Try “leads go cold after an inquiry” instead of “marketing automation.” Give each page a clear next step, and track qualified inquiries alongside traffic.

🛠️ THIS WEEK’S AI ARSENAL
A collection of skills for Claude Code and Codex that help with LinkedIn drafts, comments, profiles, and content planning. Give it a real question from a buyer and your approved answer, and it can draft a founder post. Check the claims before publishing.
Scrawl
Record your screen as you talk, click, and draw. Scrawl turns the recording into annotated frames and a transcript that a coding agent can use. Show your developer exactly where a service page or inquiry form gets confusing. The Mac app requires Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later.

📋 Mini-Playbook: Find the Page Missing From AI Answers
Use brand-gap analysis to decide what needs work before commissioning more content. Here’s a simple manual version your marketing lead can run.
Step 1: Write five buying questions
Use wording from actual sales calls. Include the service, buyer type, and constraints. For example: “Which maintenance provider handles weekend shutdowns for food factories in Pune?” Leave your brand name out.
Step 2: Record the answers and sources
Ask each question twice in fresh chats with a search-enabled assistant. Note the date, model, exact question, brands mentioned, and cited URLs. Treat this as a spot check; ten answers aren’t enough to establish your visibility across the market.
Step 3: Look for a recurring gap
Open the cited pages. Is a competitor explaining something your page leaves unclear? Is an independent directory leaving out your business? Focus on a question where the same gap appears in both runs. If nothing repeats, gather more observations before making changes.
Step 4: Make the right fix
For your own page, add a direct answer that explains the service, who it’s for, what it covers, and its limitations. Link to evidence you can back up. Read that section on its own: it should still make sense without the rest of the page.
If the gap is on a third-party site, send the publisher a factual correction or listing request with supporting evidence. They’ll decide whether to include you.
Step 5: Check what changed
Save the original wording and live URL. Two weeks later, ask the same questions again and track citations separately from brand mentions. Ask new inquiries how they found you, too. A different answer is worth noting, but it doesn’t prove your edit caused the change.
🛠️ Close the Gaps in Your Service Page
